Biography

Background

Antonio Citterio was born in Meda, near Milan, in 1950. He opened his design office in 1972 and graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. From 1987 to 1996 he worked in association with Terry Dwan on buildings in Europe and Japan, and in 2000 he founded a practice for architecture and interior design with Patricia Viel, today Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.

Signature Style

Citterio has never separated architecture from interiors or interiors from product design. His furniture pairs industrial logic with tactile comfort: precise, light structures — often in die-cast aluminium — carrying generous upholstery.
